        New masjid groundbreaking - May 2007
        Assalamu alaiakum wa rahamatullahi wa barakatuh.

        As many of you, know the Muslim Community of Troy has begun a project to build a new masjid in Latham. Construction is expected to begin this spring with the help of Allah. In celebration of this auspicious occasion, a groundbreaking event is tentatively planned for Saturday, 5 May insha Allah.

        MCT would like this to be a positive event that involves the whole community. To this end, we need volunteers to plan and coordinate this
        event. NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY! Reliable volunteers are needed for the
        following areas:

        OVERALL COORDINATION of the groundbreaking committee and the event

        Subcommittees:
        PUBLICITY – announcements, emails, VIP nvitations, flyers
        CHILDREN’S ACTIVITIES
        FUNDRAISING – on the day of the event: donation boxes, auctions, bazaar
        EQUIPMENT – power generators, sound, tables & chairs, tents
        FOOD
        PARKING AND LOGISTICS
